ABSTRACT

Interplanetary dust particles (IDPs) and primitive meteorites exhibit enrichments of deuterium and 15N, but the carrier phases of these anomalies are poorly characterized. Furthermore, it is not clear if the carriers are the same in both types of materials. We have used the new NanoSIMS at Washington University to compare the microdistributions of C and N isotopic compositions in various IDPs and fragments of Renazzo matrix material.
