Ion Sources

The instrument can be used with O^- and Cs⁺ primary ions. The choice depends on the analytical requirements.

Sample

A normal incidence primary ion beam and a normal secondary ion extraction are unique to the design of the NanoSIMS.

Multi-Collection

Six electron multipliers and one Faraday cup can be used in parallel for the simultaneous detection of different masses.
