These pictures were taken in 1998 at the CAMECA factory in Paris.

The NanoSIMS prototype

The sample chamber is located on the left in front and the magnet is on the right.

Sample Chamber

The arm extending to the lower left is for sample loading. The final instrument will have an additional chamber where up to 7 samples can be stored under vacuum.

Magnet

This prototype had 4 moveable electron multipliers. The final instrument will have a larger magnet and a total of 7 detectors.
