In order to honor Robert M. (Bob) Walker and to thank him for the many contributions he has made to science and to Washington University, we organized a scientific symposium that focused on the main themes of Prof. Walker's scientific life and the work that has been carried out under his leadership as director of the McDonnell Center for Space Sciences at Washington University.
