Conference on the Astrophysical Implications of the Laboratory
Study of Presolar Materials:
Statement of Purpose
The laboratory study of presolar grains from meteorites is providing
new information on (among other things) stellar nucleosynthesis and grain
formation in stellar outflows. At the same time, there has been substantial
progress in modelling of nucleosynthesis and grain formation, as well as
improved observational constraints on the nature of solid matter in the galaxy.
This conference will bring together experts in these areas to exchange ideas and
information to better define the state of the art and to suggest new avenues of
research.
